Glorious Ealing Studios Posters Online

An exclusive blast from the past

Okay, so Ealing films are not exactly new news - unless you've been frozen in time for 60 years, Captain America style - but it's not everyday that posters as lovely as these cross Empire's desk and we couldn't resist the urge to share them with you. The new posters - three quads and a dazzling one-sheet for Ealing's wartime propaganda thriller Went The Day Well? - are the handiwork of London-based graphic designer Sam Ashby. The posters have been commissioned for the digitally restored re-releases of the four Ealing classics. If you haven't seen them on the big screen - and frankly, most of us haven't - now's the chance. Kind Hearts And Coronets, The Lavender Hill Mob and Whisky Galore! round out the releases. {Ealing Comedy posters}. No sign yet of The Ladykillers or The Man In The White Suite but you'd be pretty churlish to complain about a revival that involves Alec Guinness's astonishing comedy turn(s) in Kind Hearts or the Scottish shenanigans of Whisky Galore!. The Lavender Hill Mob is back in cinemas today. Click here for a look behind the scenes of an Ealing gem.
